The Imagination Station
Using Creative Writing and Art
It's a cold morning and your car just won't start. The engine turns over, begrudgingly. It needs a bit more rev; vroom, vroom. Then you hear it, that
gentle, if somewhat coughing hum that tells you you're up and running.
Getting children and adults to write can be just like that. But creatively! Well,
that's another matter. With so much riding on levels and assessments, on not
being able to help when just one word would be that light bulb moment, any
kind of reading & writing can become a barrier to learning.
What about doodling? I reckon we've all done it at some time. If the words are hard to find, thendrawing what you want to say is another "key" to help you communicate.
"But I'm still scared by writing! I get upset when I can't write a word or say it..."
Don't worry! With your amazing teachers and support staff, e'll help you tap into your imagination with more ease, even if it's just one word, you're giving that "rev" to your confidence. As your confidence grows, so does your ability to express what you want to say. And that makes me a very happy bunny!
